How it works
Most assistants do one or two of these. Atlas closes the loop.
ChatGPT knows and reasons. Siri notices and acts, a little. Atlas is built to run the whole cycle — and to keep running it while you get on with your life.
The closed loop
Know → Notice → Reason → Act → Follow through → Learn.
…and Learn feeds back into Know. The understanding compounds every day.
The pieces
Seven ideas that make the loop possible.
Give Atlas an outcome, not a sequence of commands. It drafts a plan on the fly, runs the read steps automatically, and pauses for approval on every action. It can wait days for a reply, retry, and pick back up — so "call them, then book it, then let me know" actually finishes.
Atlas pays attention between conversations. Events from your calendar, inbox, messages and devices flow through a watch layer that decides what deserves your attention — and surfaces only that, once, on the right channel.
Your people, places, events, commitments and preferences live in one connected model — not scattered across apps. So "the usual group," "the same place as after Alex's graduation," or "my dentist" resolve to real things Atlas already knows.
Atlas learns the relevant pieces of your life and your corrections over time. Not a transcript of every chat — the durable context that makes the next interaction start where the last one ended.
Memory is what Atlas knows; a skill is how it does something well — how to book your haircut, how you like an intro email to read, how to move an appointment without creating a second one. Written down once, loaded before a task it covers, followed through its own verification step. Atlas can propose a skill after a task it had to figure out; nothing it writes is used until you approve it.
Atlas can communicate and act across messages, calls, calendar, bookings, home and car — with you in control. Reasoning happens server-side across every connected source; consequential actions wait for your approval and leave a trace.
Two layers of rules. Atlas's own non-negotiables — the lines it won't cross whatever a message, a web page, or a tool result tells it — override every rule and instruction, including yours. Under them sit your standing rules: spend caps, quiet hours, standing grants, do-not-disturb. Written once, enforced at the moment an action is approved — by code that checks, not a model that remembers.
